Rome total war; a winning battle or a total disaster?

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: great game play, long campaign, constantly thinking about every thing

Cons: camera movement, gets kind of repetative in campaign

The Bottom Line:
If you like to just go in and blow every thing up this is not your game but if you are a fan of chess then this is your game

Rome total war caught my interest by the first preview that I seen. I had never played a total war game before this one and was I ready for it when I seen the first screen shots. I was amazed by the amount of troops that you could have on just one battle field. The first question that came to mind is how can you control all of those people?

Well when the game came out I was there to buy it. At first this game can be very confusing for someone that has never played the total war series before. Like be I had never played a total war game before. This game is meant for the people that like to think about there games. This is a game that is huge on strategy. You have to worry about troop placement moral of the troops and a number of other things.

The controls of the game are wonderful, once you get used to them (which doesn’t take long at all. The tutorial leads you through a lot of it) the camera is kind of weird. I think this would have to be my biggest issue with the game.

I love the campaign. The campaign is huge, and this is more thinking for you. You need to keep an eye out for some of the smallest details like who is going to lead the city when the man running it right now dies. You need to see who is going to take over the faction when the elder dies.

This game is like no other that I have ever played and I love it. I suggest this game to people that don’t like video games but they do love strategy games like chess. I feel that anyone that likes chess is going to love this game.
