At first, not so good!

Pros: Rich sound. Sleek package. Easy set-up. FM radio. Charges itself and iPod.

Cons: Took me two tries to get one that worked.

Altec Lansing has made a great-sounding little unit, but I am a bit concerned how long the unit will last.

Right out of the box, I had trouble with my first Inmotion 600. It worked only one time with my iPod Nano 2nd generation. Then, when I turned it off and wanted to turn it back on, it wouldn't "boot up." So, I unplugged it, removed the iPod, closed it into its "carrying mode," and started all over again. Didn't work. The next day, when I wanted to listen to the iPod, it wouldn't "boot up" at all! So, I packed it back up in its box and returned it to Best Buy. Since they had no more in stock to offer me, I received a refund on my credit card purchase.

On my way home, I went across the road to Circuit City and, lo and behold, they had the very same model, in spades! And it was $40-some cheaper than at Best Buy. I bought one, brought it home and set it up. It has worked beautifully for three weeks now. I paid $129 at Circuit City.

The sound is remarkable for such a small unit. I had listened to iHomes, etc., and was turned off by the tinny, "clock radio" sound. Not this unit--rich, deep sound emanates like great big speakers and a subwoofer system provide.

It's easy to use. You can program up to four FM stations in the little remote control. I am using it to provide music for group gatherings, and it is nicely portable and makes a room full of sound, even with lots of people!

I'm very happy with it. It sure beats paying for Bose or any of the other really high-priced units meant for ears much better than mine.
