160 GB iPod Classic is back and working great

Being the music lover that I am, I was listening to my old iPod of 4 years (the 5th generation 30GB iPod Video) my dad got my attention and told me of the new iPods that were coming out, and that they were re-releasing the 160GB again, after they had discontinued the item and sticking to the 120GB. I had wanted to get a new one for quite sometime, as mine had finally started to show the shorter battery life and the sound port had started having issues, I finally decided I wanted a new one and it was worth the wait.

My music collection is continually growing and I got to the point on my 30GB I had to start choosing what went on and what stayed only in iTunes. This was also another reason I wanted to get it because I like having all my music with me, and there are many people who are the same way. And the space this iPod gives you is plenty and can easily fit those large iTunes libraries onto it.

Ease of Use

If you have never owned an iPod before, and the click wheel is a new thing to you, then you'll most likely have no trouble getting used to the controls it uses. And finding the music you want to listen to or the videos you want to watch is all laid out for you easy to navigate. The main menu listing all the directories, and splitting into subcategories when you select them, such as selecting music, you'll get options such as Artists, Genre even Playlists to select from a playlist you may have made. Finding what you are looking for becomes simple and easy to learn.

Putting music on your iPod

iTunes has become a major music player for computers since the iPod and the well known iTunes Music Store. Apple made it easy for people to put music on their iPods without all the confusion of the MP3 players that people sometimes had. They would have a hard time learning how to put music on them. With iTunes all you have to really do is plug your iPod into the computer and it comes up with iTunes automatically and asks if you want to sync manually or automatically. Chances are you'll only need to select automatically with how much capacity it has.

Pros

There are many things that are good about this iPod. Already mentioned is the large amount of space on it, and it isn't bulky. The battery life is very good and will stay charged for hours, the amount of time the battery lasts depends on what you are using it for, Apple stating when fully charged that you get 36 hours of music play and 6 hours of video play. It's also got the new added Genius Mixes that has recently been released on iTunes. Another thing about it is that it can act like an external hard drive. It's very portable and has lots of space for your music and for your computer files too.

Cons

There are few cons that I have about this iPod, most of which don't bother me about it but it might for some. The first thing about it is the lack of new features throughout the iPod Classic life, especially with the same time release of the new iPod Nano with the additions of many new features the most known being the HD Video recorder. The second is that it's not built for continuous exercise or running. The reason for that is in the design of the iPod Classic, and that it stores the music like a hard drive, meaning it has moving parts. So it's not suitable for the shock that exercise can give it. Unless you exercise constantly with your iPod though, it shouldn't be a problem. But if you do then this might not be the iPod for you.

Cost

I think that it is a great price for the amount of storage that it has, I got it for $235 which is less than the usual $250. If you love music and are looking for a simple iPod that will hold large amounts of music for a good price then I definitely recommend this iPod.

For all the people who have large music libraries then this would be the iPod for you. Music is a big part of my life and I know its great being able to play anything that I want to listen to wherever I'm at. I would recommend this iPod to all unless you exercise a lot with your iPod.
