Wonderful piece of hardware. Get it while it's still cheap. I've heard economists say Chinese products will get pricier. This is my first iPod and I love it.
What a little wonder that came out of Apple's Cupertino-based masterminds.
First, let me say that no matter how much glare you get from the glass, it's still the brightest display around. Reminds me of old TVs...
It's weird also how much real glass weights when compared to plastic.
Menus are great and complete. Characters are easy to read and the Genius feature is a nice addition.
8 Gb is plenty. I've already put four movies from my DVD library in it (using Transmission and hi-quality iPod H.264 encoder settings) and still have plenty of room for music, photos and podcasts. Works great with iTunes 8.
Oh! I almost forgot, transfer is blazing fast (well, with a Mac). A whole disc will only take 10 seconds and a movie, a minute.
Of course, the accelerometer's little tricks will surely amaze the instant audience this thing creates. You get used to it, though; but it's still a very nice feature.
The click-wheel could be more precise. It took me some time to get accustomed to it. It's ok now. Still can't figure out why Apple didn't inverse the controls when player is in landscape mode.
A wonderful piece of hardware that makes me wonder if I'll ever be bored again in my life (it's my first iPod, what a great way to begin!)
The manual states that you should not plug the device in an Apple keyboard USB ports, but rather directly in the computer. However, I've been using it plugged into the keyboard for days, and I've transferred many movies to it, and everything’s all right.
