My Experience
When I first started using Bare Escentuals’ bareMinerals, I did not purchase the concealer brush because of the price. It was $20! I thought it was insane to pay such a price for one brush.
I soon found out that the concealer brush was essential. I had difficulties covering up the dark circles under my eyes and the uneven skin tone around my nose. I also had a hard time covering up blemishes like small broken capillaries on my face. I tried using a Q-tip to apply the bareMinerals but that did not work well. I eventually gave in and purchased the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush.
It actually works great. The synthetic bristles are very smooth and picks up the bareMinerals easily. The bristles work together as a unit; it is not a fluffy brush. The orange-brownish colored bristles taper off towards the center of the brush. I find that it works great to cover up uneven skin tone and blemishes. I’ve also used the concealer brush with different foundations such as my MAC StudioFix. I use it whenever I need extra coverage.
I wash the concealer brush about once a week because the brush bristles pick up the oil from my face. If I do not wash it, the bristles feel heavy and a bit sticky (too much facial grease). I use baby shampoo to wash my brushes. I have used my concealer brush daily for more than half a year and the bristles remain in great condition.
Overall Thoughts
The Bare Escentuals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush is well-worth the money as makes blemish coverage very simple.
