The most awesome brush - Bare Escentuals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Soft, easy to use, beautiful coverage.

Cons: Expensive.

The Bottom Line:
The Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush works great for touching up spots, uneven skin tones, and undereye circles.

Author's Review
I've been using Bare Escentuals foundation and face products for years and never felt the need to use anything but the regular brush that came with the foundation or the Kabuki Brush I got in another Bare Escentuals kit. That was until I picked up a new kit a few weeks ago that included the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush.

My skin is fairly clear but the skin tone is uneven and once in a while I get a red spot or something that needs a little concealing. I used to just try to apply some extra foundation in that spot and it worked OK but now that I have the concealer brush, I can completely conceal those spots like never before.

From Sephora.com:
The smooth, synthetic bristles of this concealer brush allows full, concentrated coverage that blends into skin flawlessly. It holds more Multi-Tasking Bisque concealing bareMinerals, giving you extra coverage fast.

The brush is about 6 inchles in length. The synthetic bristles are very soft and are orangey in color. They are very densely packed so the brush picks up and holds a good amount of foundation or mineral product and the tapered tip allows the user to have great control over the brush and the concealer itself.

When I apply my makeup in the morning, I first apply Bare Minerals foundation using the Kabuki Brush and then touch up any uneven or red spots or dark undereye circles using the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush and the Multi-tasking bisque concealer mentioned above. I simply dip the brush into the concealer and tap off the excess and then just dab and blend it on the red spot using the brush. The concealer covers the spot beautifully and the product just blends into my skin without looking overly white or cakey like liquid makeup does when you're trying desperately to apply enough to cover some unsightly facial disaster.

To wash, I simply swish the brush around in lukewarm water with a splash of mild shampoo or facial cleanser and let it airdry on a towel overnight. As long as I shake off excess water and squeeze it with the towel before leaving it to dry, it will dry in time to use again in the morning. It does have a tendency to feel a bit dirty and greasy after a week or two so with my breakout problems I wash mine regularly to remove the oils and build-up.

At $18 the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush is kind of expensive, but it is very well made, is of good quality and I'm sure it will hold up for years like my other Bare Escentuals brushes have so it's a good investment.
