Pros: light hold or firm hold, no residue, not tested on animals, etc
Cons: price, odor
The Bottom Line:
You can have a light hold or a firm hold depending on how much you spray. The price for this product is outrageous.
Yesterday I ran out of hairspray. Crisis! Crisis! Danielle ran out of hairspray as she was scrunching her almost dry hair. Crisis! Crisis! We need more hairspray, PRONTO! I ran to A&P to do my banking and the one in Kenilworth, NJ has a bundle of the infamous TIGI products. I happily purchased a 10-ounce bottle, at $11.95, of TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Hair Spray. Yes, this hairspray is definitely expensive.
I use hairspray approximately once or twice a week to "scrunch" my hair for a wavy look. My hair is not dry, but not wet either. This harspray works great on half wet, half dry hair. I also use hairspray on my "oily -grease ball, woke up late" days to hold the hair in my ponytail in place. I need a hairspray to have a nice hold, so that my hair isn't going to move a centimeter. When I scrunch my hair, I need my hairspray to give a nice finish to the mousse and gel. I need it just to hold everything together.
The Bottle
The bottle is silver with a clear plastic lid. It looks like your regular aerosol spray bottle. All you have to do is gently press and the hairspray flies out. The bottle is not very heavy, so you can lift and spray wherever you would like.

The Directions
"Hold 10-12 inches from hair. Spray over styled hair, or spot spray as desired. Layer Hard Head Spray to increase firmness."
These directions need to be followed. If you would like a light mist, just to hold a hairstyle, then spray very lightly. Sometimes, when I wear a ponytail, I want my hair completely GLUED to my head. I spray until no tomorrow. Can I move my hair? No. This hairspray is great for teasing hair. I have several different layers. Sometimes I want one layer to be stiff, and the other to be bouncy. One layer I will spray to have a firm hold, the other I will lightly mist. How hard you want your hold depends solely on how much you spray onto your hair.
Rain/Wind/Snow
Well. I have to report some bad news. TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Hair Spray did not make this product weather proof. I was wearing a "scrunch" hairstyle, went to go start my car in the rain/wind and my hair was a dripping, soggy mess. On miserable days, I would definitely NOT recommend this product without an umbrella or protective covering.
Keep telling me
I am glad to inform that TIGI products do not test on animals and is made in the USA.
When I take a shower and rinse my sticky, hair sprayed hair, there has never been a problem. I have never had a residue from the hair spray and it has rinsed out easily. The spray is odorless. This is plain aerosol being sprayed ladies and gentlemen. Be sure to open a window when you are using this because it isn't healthy to inhale this stuff!
During the day, it is unnecessary to touch-up your hair unless you only mist your hair. Then you might need a quick refresher to keep your hairstyle in place. I really like this hairspray because if you just want a light mist, you can have it. If you want your hair to become stiff, you can have it that way too. It depends on the amount you spray. This hairspray is great with updo hairstyles; the salon I go to religiously uses TIGI products.
Final Thoughts
I am unimpressed with the price of this product. $11 for 10 ounces is outrageous. This will probably last my family and me two months. TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Hair Spray is odorless; other hairsprays (Aussie & Herbal Essences) that I have used have some sort of scent that takes away from the aerosol smell.
I am impressed that you can have a light hold or a firm hold depending on how much of the product you spray on your hair. TIGI Bed Head Hard Head Hair Spray leaves no residue, is not tested on animals, and is made in the USA.
If I could give ½ stars, this product would be a 3 ½. I'll go with 4 stars because I am feeling extra generous tonight.
Thanks for reading!
Danielle
