Pros: Easy to setup, sounds awesome
Cons: big $$$, only 1 digital in
The Bottom Line:
It is small and yet powerful unit, great for apartments and houses. If you can afford it, go for it.
I live in a one bedroom apartment and needed a good home theatre system. I didnt have any audio components before, so I needed the whole package. It needed to be small, but also scalable when I move into a house. I bought the LifeStyle 50 and am very happy. For the price you get a complete system, 5 little speakers (each is actually 2 speakers) and a base module. The whole setup is pretty tiny, great for my apartment. Super easy to setup, and of course the sound is great. It has a 6 disc CD changer as well. I did have to call their support when my pad was misaligned, and they were very helpful. I didnt have to give any information, warranty or otherwise, they were just there to help.
Something very nice is the fact that you can actually hook up additional sets of speakers, for other rooms in your house. So you can control all the sound in your house, with one remote. The remote is a light up touch pad, that can go through 6 feet of concrete, it uses radio waves. I have a 27 inch Sony TV and a DVD player that I hooked up and now I LOVE renting DVDs.
My only complaint is the unit only has 1 digital in for a DVD player. My computer has a 5.1 sound card that I want to hook in, and I have to use a splitter.
