Pros: Love the pulse razor,cleaning stand, and German engineering.

The Bottom Line:
I normally shave every other day, but with the Braun, I might change to every day!
I purchased the Series 7 shaver about a month ago to replace my Norelco rotary shaver.
My Norelco was 7 years old, and the batteries would not stay charged, and I started looking into a new razor for me, a good razor not a cheap one. I chose the Braun Series 7 Shaver.
It took a bit to get used to a foil razor rather than the rotary one I have been using, but it was sure worth the effort.
I had or have nothing against my old Norelco, it did a fine job, and was comfortable to use and easy to clean, but the Braun is just in a different league!
For starters, the Braun just shaves better because it is going faster! You can feel the pulse shaving qualities, but the motor on this thing is balls out! It buzzes around at a pretty good clip, and shaves your faces and necks extremely well, without any razor burn.
It is recomended by Braun, to shave without showering, or adding any shaving enhancers, but that didn't work to well for me. I have to shower before shaving, and I use no facial additives, and the Braun worked well. When I didn't shower, it seemed to drag and not shave as well as it should. Don't leave your face wet either, as that will cause more harm than good.
I don't like the way the trimmer is mounted. When flipped out, or up you have trouble seeing what you are trying to shave! Kind of defeats the purpose.
I don't like the noise it makes either, just not as quiet as my Norelco triple header, but the Norelco was slower also compared to the Braun.
The cleaning console it comes with, at first I thought it was a gimmick, but after just rinsing the razor under water, (which you should do to clean out the stubble) and using it that way, instead of cleaning it before shaving is a world of difference! It's like having a new razor everytime you shave! I only shave every other day, so I might go about 2 to 3 times before I clean it. So far, I'm still on the same cleaning solution that came with the razor, but I have purchased 6 more inserts for about 28 bucks, and they say a insert should last around 30 days, so I'm not afraid of running a cleaning cycle for fear of using up the solution. It just makes sense to clean it, and charge it also, although the battery may never be far enough down using the information guide located on the bottom of the razor. The hygene indicator does drop rather fast, but as stated above, it just makes sense to have it cleaned.
I'm very pleased with my purchase of the Braun and it is a very well built shaver, with some of the goodies like the cleaning chamber and battery and hygene indicator.
