Good small office fax machine

Our old HP fax machine broke down and we purchase the Brother 2920 to replace it from Costco.com. Costco has free shipping and we received the package 1 day after the purchase was placed on-line. It took only a few minutes to set-up the fax machine.

The only troubleshooting I had to do was to set the speed of the fax down to basic or normal rather than "high-speed" in order be compatible with other fax machines that are not "high-speed". Regardless, the machine is quick to send, receive, print, and copy. The Brother phone support people are really friendly and patient.

One other thing to watch out for is: the 20 Speed Dial one-touch keys are programmed separately from the 200 Speed Dial numbers.

Good things: The sound can be turned off completely. Quick to send, receive, print, copy. Better than HP all-in-one fax machines at the same price. The machine prints out an error message if the fax doesn't go through. No message means the fax was sent. Toner lasts a long time.

We found toner priced at $42. from a toner vendor and the yield is 2,500 pages. Our old HP fax had inkjet cartridges that cost 51.99 and the yield was only 794 pages. The drum is $77.35 and has a yield of 12,000 pages.

I recommend this fax machine for a small business or home office.
