One of the best racing games ever created

This game is fantastic.  It is a must buy game if you have a Playstation 2.  It's a perfect blend of high speed racing and intense crashing.

        Let me start off by saying I love this game.  Burnout creates its own style of racing.  This game is not all about going for gold.  It's about going for gold while totaling your opponent's cars at the same time.  This a very fast paced game with extreme speeds and awesome crashes.  With that being said, lets review.

Gameplay 5/5

          This game has unmatched gameplay and I'll tell you why.  So your racing at nearly 200 mph in the middle of traffic and your opponent decides to nudge you a little.  You can respond to that nudging by shoving him into a brick wall or a semi-truck.  This kind of action makes this game get addicting real fast and I love it.  Who wouldn't love sending their opponent into a brick wall?  Your car is moving very fast but the game is made so that you can still control it easily. There are a few different racing modes which include normal racing, road rage, time trial, and a crash mode.  There is also a career mode where you travel around the world using all the game modes to unlock more cars and tracks.
         The game wouldn't be called "Burnout 3: Takedown" for nothing.  In road rage mode you try to get the most takedowns possible before your car gets wrecked.  Takedowns include ramming your opponents in to other cars, sending them into brick walls, hit them off the side of a cliff, etc.  There are numerous ways to do it.  If your car crashes, you can actually steer your crashing car for a short time to try to take out other cars!  Each time you takedown another opponent, you get boost added to your boost bar.  You can use this to easily destroy everyone else on the road.  Overall, this is a great, new addition to the Burnout series.
         Crash mode has to be the most entertaining mode in the game.  Basically what you do is drive your car straight into the middle of traffic and cause as much damage and mayhem as you possibly can.  The game even includes 100 different places to crash!  I've done it hundreds of times and it doesn't get old or boring.  You can use race cars you have obtained or special crash cars that include pickup trucks, trash trucks, fire trucks, and more.  Definitely one of the best features of the game.

Graphics 5/5

           This game has outstanding graphics and everything is detailed from the cars, to the tracks, to the crashes.  The graphics aren't HD but they are great for the Playstation 2.  When racing at high speeds, traffic and the scenery starts to blur which give you the feeling that you are traveling really fast.  I think it's a great aspect of the game.  Each car has three different colors and you can easily tell if you or your opponents are damaged. The crashes in this game are beautiful to watch.  When you smash into a minivan, you can see glass and other pieces of metal flying through the air.  This is even more spectacular to watch if you hit a truck carrying oil because of the explosion.  The graphics in this game do not disappoint.

Music 4/5
 
        Most of the music in this game is a rock and alternative genre.  You can turn the music off but I think there's a song or two to enjoy.  The soundtrack has bands like My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Yellowcard, and more.  It definitely goes with the intense racing that takes place. 

Content 5/5

           Burnout has a good amount of content and replay value in it.  There is a total of 67 cars in the game.  This includes compact cars, muscle cars, coupe cars, super cars, crash cars, and more.  There are also 40 tracks and 100 areas to do crash mode.  This is plenty of area to cover with the variety of cars.  EA games did a good job packing this game with tracks from places like Italy, the United States, and Japan.  The cars also are good since they all have different speeds and weights.

Final Word

           This game is fantastic.  It is a must buy game if you have a Playstation 2.  It's a perfect blend of high speed racing and intense crashing.  You will not be disappointed if you buy it.
