Pros: The fastest racing game I've played - just sheer fun.

Cons: As with all racing games, repetitive - should have been more cars and courses.

Gran Turismo 3? The management aspect, which actually distracts from the racing, has gone out of the window for Burnout. This is pure gaming - pick up, play, have fun. It won't last you forever, but you'll keep going back to it again and again. I don't normally like racing games, but this is amazing.

First of all, the speed is amazing. From the outset you are speeding down motorways, dodging oncoming traffic at the last second, hurtling down breakneck corners... And then you smash into an oncoming lorry, its contents spill out and you swerve into three traffic-parked cars. $150,000 crash - just put it on the credit card.

It's full of experiences - remember the bit when, I liked the bit after... You can even save all crashes onto the memory card to view later. The one word to describe the gameplay is fun, which is more than can be said about the likes of Final Fantasy or Gran Turismo.

The graphics are sharp, crisp and while they are not dropdead gorgeous like Gran Turismo's, they are more than good enough for something that relies so much on fun gameplay. The music isn't annoying but doesn't add anything to the game - you will find yourself humming it though.

In my opinion, this is the best racing game on Playstation 2. It may not be revolutionary like Metropolis Street Racing, and it may not have the hype of Gran Turismo, but this is a gem.
