I loooooove Burt's Bees products. My absolute favorite is Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion... you've got to admire a company that's good to the environment, so my interest in Burt's Bees started there.
Apparently, Burt's Bees was actually named for a guy named Burt who sold honey and eventually, beeswax candles, with his wife in Maine. So, it's actually named after his bees... kinda funny, right? The product line just grew and grew from there... natural products with great ingredients seem to be the way they do business.
I first got a Burt's Bees gift set at Christmas one year. It had like 7 items in it and all of them were great. A lip balm, this lotion, a hand salve, foot treatment, hand soap, small shampoo/conditioner as well. I loved every item in there, but the lotion was the big winner and I've been using it ever since.
What I like about the company is that they have a quality and a spirit that makes me feel good about purchasing their products. Their web site boasts: Burt's Bees sure has grown up over the past several years and a lot has changed around here, but there are some things that never will: our recipes, our values and our natural way of doing things.
Some of their profits go to reforesting and preserving land in their home state of Maine and they're involved with The Nature Conservancy, as well. Burt's Bees is simply an Earth-friendly/natural personal care product maker, and I love them for it!
They have recycled and recyclable packaging and nature-safe manufacturing processes, and have worked on initiatives to provide sustainable housing for the less fortunate.
Besides feeling good about supporting a business that does all these good things, when I wear the Milk and Honey Lotion, I FEEL GOOD ALL OVER.
My skin is soft and I have this wonderfully fresh cocoa-buttery scent that everyone seems to notice... especially guys *blush*. Even though I put it on all the time, they still comment on how good I smell.
But seriously, for a product to work this well AND smell this good, it's heavenly. Add to that the eco-consciousness and concern for their fellow man, and I'm sold! You should be too! Burt's Bees is the bestest!!
