Pros: great graphics
unbeatable Xbox Live experience
fun single-player mode
Cons: I have nothing bad to say about this game:]
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend Modern Warfare 2 to anyone who loves great graphics and hours of fun. I find myself on the edge of my seat while playing this epic game.
Opening the Game:
As I was getting home from GameStop where I just purchased the brand new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, I looked at the back of the case to see how awesome the screen shots would be. The big picture on the back is a snow-camouflaged man riding a snowmobile with another man sniping from the back. The others are just random pictures on the top of soldiers shooting with helicopters overhead. Now, after I have played the game for months exploring all of its features, I find that those pictures on the back of the case and the reviews from "GameSpot" "1up.com" and "Official Xbox Magazine" saying one word like "awesome", "gorgeous", and "brilliant", they are not accurate at all.
Why, you ask?
Well simply because this game is so much better than just "awesome", "gorgeous", or "brilliant"! If I were one of those companies that was using only one word to describe this game. I would say...INSANE!
My Experience:
When I first opened Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, I played it for 4 hours straight. And the only thing that stopped me was my Xbox 360 temporarily overheating. This is no doubt the best first-person shooter game that I have ever played. Every part of it is unbeatable and tops the rest.
Single-player Mode:
I find that single-player mode in most games is not the best. If the game can be played on Xbox Live, I find it should only be played on Xbox Live. The single-player part is just boring and long. On the contrary, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 provides hours and hours of an epic story with many unsuspected turns. Single-player features many of great guns you can play with on Xbox Live. It gives you the best gun that can be used for that situation and section of the story. Single-player Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is absolutely unbeatable.
Spec-Ops:
Many people, including myself, are unaware of the Spec-Ops portion of the game. In this part, you can invite a friend or fight alone to complete many different missions from racing snowmobiles to blowing up all the cars on a breaking bridge. Another one of my favorites is stealthily crawling through a snow course with silenced guns and snow camouflage to reach the finish without being seen by the enemy patrol. Spec-Ops is a great experience that was not offered in the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and is a very great addition to the game.
Multi-player (Xbox Live):
I think others would agree, this is no doubt the best, most exciting, and epic part of the game. Given new "perks" that were not offered in the first Modern Warfare, creating a class is so much fun. Unlocking all the guns up to the AK-47 is quite the journey. Unlocking new features, and even upgrading ones if you use them a lot (slight of hand becomes slight of hand PRO, steady aim becomes steady aim PRO and so on) is always a very fun part in any game. New titles and emblems can be added when completing challenges. Camouflages also are upgraded like the first Modern Warfare, except a new final camouflage called "fall" is added.
All kinds of games are offered to play like Capture the Flag, Domination, Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch, and many more. It truly offers something for everyone. If they like strategy and teamwork, they can play Search and Destroy and, with teamwork, plant a bomb on the opposing team. If you want to simply run around and shoot people, Team Deathmatch or Free-For-All is the game for you.
Conclusion and Recommendation:
I would recommend this game to anyone. As an experienced gamer, this is my favorite and most played game. You may even want to sell your other games because after playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, they just will not be fun anymore. This is absolutely an amazing game and would be worth the money. Great graphics, great game-play, and an all around exciting and epic experience gives this game its wonderful name: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!
