This is one excellent lens for the money. I paid around $95. I have heard folks buying it for as little as $70. If I had to do it all over again, this is the ONLY lens I would buy. I mostly take pictures of my kids (nothing else is important). This lens allows me to take excellent portraits, with natural lighting, and renders wonderful exposures. I was even able to take a decent picture of my kids next to one candlelight at night! amazing!

I do have problems switching from manual focus to auto focus.. the construction looks flimsy, but the lens quality & price more than makes up for it!

Set your camera setting to Aperture Priority, set it to the highest aperture setting (1.8), use the available natural lighting and have at it. You will be amazed!
