This camera is easy to use and produces amazing pictures. This camera will take photos in "RAW" format so be prepared to have long downloading times to your computer. The flip side is that it has amazing clarity. You can plug this camera into your tv for an instant slide show or review of movies just taken. Great when you are away from home. I use a MAC so I had to purchase a separate software package to handle the "RAW" images called Aperture for $200. Be prepared to want to spend more money on an upgraded lens. The one sold with camera is OK. They have several other options that may be more versatile for your individual needs. The high definition video feature is very clear. The only down fall is that as subjects move closer or farther away you need to adjust the focus by taping a button periodically. A little annoying but better than most video. I have taken close up shots of small flowers, watches etc. with ease. No blurring what so ever. Landscape pictures are a breeze as well. The nob on top allows you to select approx. 6 different settings for different environments. This automatically switches you camera over to best options for your shot. No fusing with this or that if you are in a hurry or simply don't want to learn. This allows great clarity depending on shot being taken. I have captured my kids in action shots that were not possible with prior cameras.  If you are a picture snob or just someone who appreciates a crystal clean photo this is the camera for you.
