Excellent all round compact camera!
After trying a Nikon S570 for a day I returned it for a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS Digital Camera which was a bit less expensive.Wanted something that, on occasion, would be easier to carry than a Nikon D60. This fit the bill to a T. Fast start, fast storage, good quality, and could fit in a purse of pocket without a problem. It uses two AA cells with good battery life, either disposable(140 phots with LCD monitor on and about 430 with LCD monitor off) or NiMh about 350 photos with LCD monitor on and up to 700 with the LCD monitor off). It has an easy to see Battery Charge Indicator on the LCS screen. The camera came with a 2GB SD card which will hold up to 600 photos at highest resolution.
This camera first came to market in about February 2009 selling at $ 199 and one year later it is selling at about $ 129. great value for the features. It comes in four interesting colours shades, including blue, pink, gray, and green and is a fun camera to use. Some of its best features include a great 12.1-Megapixel resolution, large 2.5-inch LCD screen plus an Optical Viewfinder, a 4x Optical Zoom lens including Optical Image Stabilization, and the new Smart AUTO enables this camera to also be a go-anywhere and match any lifestyle accessory.
