NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE

Author's Rating: Rating: 1/5 stars

Pros: Canon is a good brand. The look, feel, screen size, and megapixel.

Cons: Battery life...there simply was none.

The Bottom Line:
Do not purchase this camera, unless you want to lug around several batteries.

Author's Review
My fiance and I purchased this Canon camera because our previous camera was from Canon. We were in the market to purchase a new camera because our old camera was old and bulky. We are getting married and moving very soon, so we wanted a quality camera that would take great pictures and help us capture this very important time in our lives. Our previous Canon has done very well so we stayed loyal to the brand and decided to purchase another Canon.

We looked at several Canon products, before deciding on the Powershot SD1400 IS. We were drawn to the camera because we liked the screen, feel, and large megapixel. We felt comfortable with our camera based on the display model and how the camera took pictures.

We purchased the camera, went home, charged the battery, and started to take pictures. This is typical protocal for cameras.

The camera had a horrible battery life of about 30 pictures. We charged the camera and the same battery life was experienced. We returned the product, and believe the faulty battery was the issue for the problem.

There is no point to own a camera that can only take 30 pictures...heck we do that in trial photos, deletes because of blinks and redos. The camera was nice, but not worth purchasing another battery.

Our pictures are important to us, so we returned the camera and decided to look at all the brands. Based on our review of other products and style, we made the decision to purchase a different brand. The cost and options were very similar, but the new camera had a longer battery life per the box (also verified with first use).

We are extremely happy with our new one that is in the same price range...
