Once Again, Not Overhyped

Pros: Intense fighting, music, cut scenes, plenty of extras
Cons: Extremely hard to get good ranks on higher difficulties
The Bottom Line:
Any Devil May Cry fan would love this game. After seeing the earlier ones, I thought this one still blew them away.
First of all, I really did enjoy this game, and it's the first Devil May Cry I ever played. I had never even seen a Devil May Cry game being played before I tried this one. As most people know, you have two protagonists: Nero, and Dante. But Nero is more the center of attention. You just take over as Dante when Nero is in a tight spot. This game, in most cases, would be considered a hack 'n' slash. Yet, I could also be called an adventure game. Because, in hack 'n' slash games, you generally never have to do puzzles, or actually take breaks from the hacking and slashing. You do in DMC 4 though.
-Gameplay-
You'll be doing a lot of jumping, shooting, grabbing, and slashing. As Nero, you have three weapons: Your sword(which is gas powered), your gun, and your Devil Bringer arm. The Devil Bringer arm is probably the most useful thing Nero has; it can reach, grab, slam, and boost you up to higher areas. It really is a help in battle, and lets you preform a special grab attack on every single enemy. There's a combo system, that goes from C to SSS. The more moves you use, the better that rank will be. The fighting is intense, and can be a real challenge, if you have the difficulty high enough. Now for Dante. He has numerous weapons, and styles. This leads to almost unlimited combos for you to utilize with Dante. I would only be ruining the game, if I told you everything you got with Dante, so I'll leave that to the gamer. But, you can still turn into the demon form of Dante, which lets you beat the ever-living crap out of enemies. There's plenty of bosses to fight as well, which are all unique enough. There's one thing everyone complains about though, and that's going through the game twice. It's true, you have to go along the same path Nero did with Dante, but in reverse. Although, all the levels aren't the same. And yes, you have to fight most of the bosses again. With Dante though, it's a different experience, and the game has a different feel. It's not boring at all to go through the levels with Dante again.
-Other Stuff-
The cut scenes are intense. The battles and unthinkable things attainable by Nero and Dante are fun to watch. There's times the game is dramatic, but not in a cheesy way. All the voice acting is very well done, and the script was written nicely. You can't forget about the music as well. It helps express the cut scenes, and adds a cool factor to the battles. In battles, the music is basically comprised of metal beats, and guitar riffs, which is neat since that isn't seen very often. The controls are easy to get used to, and the graphics are gorgeous. The people are actually well done, and the number of environments you explore all are alive and vibrant.
-Well..-
Yeah, it's all great. Plenty of extras and difficulty levels for anyone looking for a challenge.
