Do you adore Dior enough to spend $23?

Pros: Designer name. Makes eyelashes look great.
Cons: Expensive.
The Bottom Line:
While this mascara did give me luscious-looking lashes, it's more expensive than the results warrant.
I first tried Dior Show mascara just after its debut by receiving a deluxe sample from Sephora. Without first being able to try this, I would never have spent $23 so if you're able to get a sample first, definitely try it that way first.
After applying two coats to each eye, I was very pleased with the results; lashes that appeared darker, longer, fuller, richer and definitely far more noticeable than just my bare lashes. The manufacturer description of Dior Show claims it curls lashes. I saw no curling of my lashes whatsoever. Then again, I have never found a mascara that actually curls lashes. I have always used a separate eyelash curler tool for a curling effect when desired.
Dior Show dried fairly quickly, did not flake by the end of the day and also did not leave those unsightly mascara shadows that some leave under my eyes. It did not irritate my contact lenses and was easy to remove with a regular eye makeup remover.
I received compliments from friends who had never seemed to notice my lashes before and was so happy with the results that I decided to go ahead and purchase a full sized tube. For reference, I have only tried color 090 - Rich Black, but this is offered in blue and brown shades as well.
After using Dior Show through that first tube, and as the time neared to needing more, I began realistically comparing its results to other brands I have used. After some "experiments" with other brands (please check out my other mascara reviews!) and since I'm not wealthy by any means, I decided that similar results can be achieved with alternate brands of mascara with lower price tags and have not repurchased Dior Show.
TIP: 20 years of mascara usage of multiple types and brands has taught me that the key to mascara success is more related to the applicator design itself combined with application techniques, rather than the brand or formula itself.
My personal recipe for lush, voluminous, come-hither lashes is to wiggle the applicator from under the base of the upper lash to the end, while rolling the applicator at the same time for maximum product coating. Let dry only long enough to do the other eye. This usually takes two wiggle/roll combinations to coat each eye thoroughly. Then go back and repeat the same technique on the first eye, and again on the second. Apply 2-4 coats per eye or until you're satisfied with the results.
I do not typically coat my bottom lashes because I have found that skipping the bottom lashes makes my eyes appear wider and more open. This is definitely a personal preference. Just play around to see what works best for you.
Yes, I know it sounds complex and time-consuming, but eventually this will become easier with practice.
