Not all it's cracked up to be

Pros: Lengthens, thickens and curls. Doesn't flake or clump and washes off well.

Cons: Too expensive, doesn't thicken THAT well, hard to reach all lashes, and brush clumps up.

It's a good mascara, but it isn't worth it's price.

Well I was overly excited to use my new Diorshow mascara. I had heard only good things about it and it was rated best mascara by Sephora. Yeah, it's good, but I can get almost the same effect from $8 Covergirl Volume Exact as $24 Dior Diorshow. I suppose I was expecting some magical, false eyelash look creating, all-powerful mascara, which is why I was so disappointed.

The brush It's HUGE. You'd think this is a precursor to fantastic volume, like Benefit Bad Gal, but it really isn't. I mean the volume is OK, especially for a girl like me who hates spending ten minutes separating "volume" (clumps). Another thing about the brush, it really gets coated in the stuff and you can't discern the bristles. This doesn't really cause a whole lot of problems with clumping, but it makes it even harder to get the itty-bitty lashes at the corners of your eye. Plus, it's really bad for putting on in a hurry. I've tried it before and gotten mascara goop all over my eyelids. Yuck.

The formula The mascara itself is pretty good. It curls my lashes better than any mascara ever has, but this definitely has never been a selling point for me since you can get the effect from a lash curler. It lengthens just fine, too. It thick enough that your lashes look dark enough, but not so thick they clump. It's easy to wiggle the brush at the base of your lashes to get a bit more volume and coat your lashes in more color.
