It really amazes me what a difference mascara makes on my appearance. I always wear it, even if I'm not wearing any other eye makeup. My eyelashes are nearly black so I don't need to make them darker. I just love that glam look Clinique High Impact Mascara gives.

About the Product
Clinique High Impact Mascara
I received this mascara in a gift with purchase. It comes in a .14 oz. black tube. The full-size comes in the same exact packaging except a bigger tube, though I am not very sure how much product is in the full size tube. I would say maybe twice as much judging by the size of the tube.

The top is twist off with a brush attached (well of course!) I just twisted off the top and pulled at the brush. Right now looking at the brush I see that it is very well coated with mascara and has no visible clumps. The brush is average sized and straight. The bristles are arranged in little groups of several separate bristles.

Product claims and directions from clinique.com:
"Kicks up the volume and length of each and every lash for a look that's lusher, plusher, bolder. Pure, deep colour only adds to the impact. Wear it once and you'll feel naked without it.

Begin at lash roots. Wiggle brush so lashes get between the bristles. To apply to lower lashes, hold wand vertically. Do not pump brush in container as this adds air that can dry out the mascara. To prevent clumping, let mascara dry between coats. Remove with eye makeup solvent."

Clinique High Impact Mascara is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. The mascara does have a very slight chemical/makeup-y scent.

This mascara comes in black/brown and black.

My Experience
This mascara was simple to apply. After curling my lashes I placed the brush as close to the base of my lashes as I could possibly get and did the mascara wiggle I always do. Perfection! Each lashes was perfectly coated and separated.

I have noticed that sometimes, quite rarely actually, that I will get a little, tiny goopy clump on the first lash on the inner corner of my eye. This most likely has nothing to do with the product, just me getting in a hurry or something because it doesn't not happen often. This problem is easily solved by using a clean mascara wand brushed through the lash.

After I apply however many coats I want (Which by the way, this is a good "building" mascara. You can keep adding coats as long as you let them dry between each application)
I brush through my entire set of eyelashes with the mascara brush I just mentioned. Then, instead of applying mascara straight to my bottom lashes from the tube I use the clean mascara wand that I just went over my top lashes with. I find it looks much more natural this way, since whatever product is left after my top lashes is perfect for my bottom ones.

The mascara makes my eyes look much more defined and my lashes longer. If you have light eyelashes, this will really darken them.

A full size costs $13.50. I think it is totally worth it. That is not very much more than drugstore mascaras. If you found a true winner among the drugstore brands then I would continue using it. But if you are still on a search for a great mascara I would give this a try. I have had my "gift with purchase tube" since the beginning of June and I still have plenty mascara left. I bet the full size would last a very long time.

It is always wise to change mascara tubes every six months at the most because they have such an ideal bacteria breeding ground. This is very gross and I am guilty of keeping mascara at least that long, if not longer. Just remember to close it tightly and never share eye makeup with anyone. Eye infections are just not pretty and even worse they can be painful.

Clinique High Impact Mascara is great. My lashes are so long and pretty right now because I have it on. Definitely recommended.
