Cons: Challenging drills in the virtual trainer test feature and sometimes bad connection playing online

I would recommend NFL Madden 09 because it is the top sports game in 2009 that I have ever played and this sports game will leave you breathless.

        Celebrating 20 years of innovation and counting, NFL Madden 09 is a video game that delivers the most complete NFL football package ever (Buy Madden NFL 09). Whether you are a seasoned veteran or picking up the game for the first time, players of all skill levels will enjoy a unique, yet challenging experience with the innovative Adaptive Difficulty Engine, which tailors the game to match your playing style (Buy Madden NFL 09). NFL Madden 09 was released on August 12, 2008, and the game systems that NFL Madden 09 is available on are: Xbox, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Xbox 360, Wireless, PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo DS (Ahearn). The video game NFL Madden 09 is the greatest football game made in 2009, filled with incredible new features, game play, and a realistic experience.
        NFL Madden 09 contains the best new features of any football game to date. The franchise mode is more advanced than NFL Madden 08, because every NFL team has current-day rosters and every team has its own division rivals, which are considered to be its franchise rivalries in the game. Difficulty settings automatically increase whenever you play your division rival, making these games tougher to win than ever before. Your team’s top three rivals are called out by an on-screen icon at the Team Select screen and on the Franchise Schedule screen. There is a Rivals screen in Franchise mode that shows your team’s historical record against your rivals. In addition, the Rivals History screen lists the results of every game your team has played against your rival. NFL Madden 08 and NFL Madden 09 are similar because both of their franchise modes have a preseason, during the season, and an off-season. The new front office mode in NFL Madden 09 lets you take charge of the organization’s finances, staff, stadium, and scouting players (Madden NFL 09). A new feature that will amaze you the most is the virtual trainer test, because this aspect of the game allows you to learn simple concepts about playing football and how to use controls with tutorial drills (Madden NFL 09). The problem I have about the virtual trainer test feature is that the seminar drills are very challenging, but otherwise this aspect of the game makes NFL Madden 09 more thrilling and exciting.
        NFL Madden 09 has authentic game play. An all-new Total Control Animation System allows for instantaneous combo moves and break-out tackles, ensuring the play is never over until the whistle blows (Madden NFL 09). My favorite example of a combo move in NFL Madden 09 is the ability for the football players to, “Truck,” which is the term for lowering the shoulder and running over defenders. In the game play, the football players have player skill icons, which are on-field strengths and abilities. The player skill icons are an excellent way of quickly reacting, creating mismatches, and exploiting opponent weaknesses before every play. Some examples of the player skill icons for the quarterback are: cannon arm quarterback, accurate quarterback, speed quarterback, and the smart quarterback. The online-gaming experience is unlike any other game, because now you can compete in online leagues that allows up to 32 players to compete in online-league play (Madden NFL 09). The online-game play will make you a better player, because you get to battle with all kinds of different players who have diverse skill levels, and you can represent your favorite team online. The flaw that I have with the online game play is that sometimes the game loses connection whenever you are playing with someone who has a poor quality connection online or if your system also has an awful connection. To avoid this setback, just make sure your connection has a superior signal and that your opponent also has a decent connection when you play online.
        NFL Madden 09 makes you feel as if you are in the game. The graphics in NFL Madden 09 make the game more realistic than NFL Madden 08, while bringing the game to a new level (Ahearn). The enhanced graphics engine and new player models make linemen battling in the trenches with more bulky physiques, while backs and receivers fly around the field with a sleeker and slimmer look (Buy Madden NFL 09). The graphics features the most realistic-looking grass-and-field turf in a sports game, new weather and stadium-lighting effects, and active exterior-stadium views (Buy Madden NFL 09). The superstar mode is a way you can create a superstar or choose an NFL rookie from the 2008 draft class and guide his life from pre-draft workouts through his entire career (Madden NFL 09). This experience makes you feel as if you are the player itself, because you do everything from interviews, to the draft, to practice, to actual games that are mapped out for you on your calendar. NFL Madden 09 is the first sports game that adapts to the player and, whether you are new to the franchise or an All-Pro, the all-new Adaptive Difficulty Engine continuously assesses your abilities and tailors the experience to fit your skill level, keeping the game both fun and challenging (Madden NFL 09).
        NFL Madden 09 is a spectacular video game. The amazing new features, excellent game play, and realistic experience bring this game to a new level. This is a must have sports game and will leave you breathless. I would highly recommend this video game because NFL Madden 09 is the top sports game in 2009 that I have ever played and, if you want classic NFL action, then this is the game for you.
