Pros: Graphics, Skill Stick, Real-time movement
Cons: Create a team, long loading time
The Bottom Line:
If you love NHL, buy this game, hours of fun
NHL 08 brings all other NHL games to a new Level. I picked this game up after just getting the ps3 as a christmas present. i play in 1080p full hd and the graphics are incredible. The amount of detail in this game is unheard of! game play seems to mimic realistic movements and reaction times (always a fan of realism). I really like the new create a team mode and have made a few myself. the options in create a player are out of this world. you can choose almost any stick with any flex and blade. One thing i dont like about the created teams are that there home ice has an EA Sports Logo as oppose to the logo you have put on your jersey. The EA sports Skill stick lets you control every movement of your stick including, shots, passes, dekes ,poke checks, and the placement of them. Dynasty mode is great for long term commitment to teams, but simulating games can take forever, and if youre trying to simulate months at a time, you better have something else to do. If you like the NHL game series, get ready for the best one EA sports has to offer.
