Worked well... but not for long.

Pros: Good quality scans, powerful software.
Cons: Flimsy, didn't last. Waste of money, one more piece of garbage on the planet.
I got this scanner about 16 months ago. I was looking for a scanner with an automatic sheet feeder, at a reasonable price, and the choice was limited. But I was pleased with the Epson. It provided excellent quality scans and the feeder was very useful. I scanned about 500 slides and perhaps 1000 pages.
And then, about two months after the warranty expired, it died. The nearest repair centre was about 100 miles away, and I live in a large city (Montréal). That was confirmed by Epson's e-mail support. The folks at the repair shop are not optimistic about the possibility of fixing it, and reported that Epson's support is very uncooperative.
Therefore, no more Epson products for me. I don't mind paying for quality products: obviously, Epson doesn't have customers like me in its plans.
