Eyetoy Groove for PlayStation 2Price:
£9.21
Groove will be the first interactive dance toy developed for EyeToy that strives to release itself from the traditional game shackles that normally restrict the player. The game does away with the standard game dogma so that it can introduce the idea of an interactive toy.

Cool Gadget, But A Little Ahead of It's Time

Pros: Innovative concept
Cons: Limited by technology
Sony's Eye Toy is a camera with some sort of motion sensor, allowing you to play games controlled by your body and hand movements instead of a regular controller. While this is a nifty idea, in reality the Eye Toy provides limited fun factor.
The major problem of the Eye Toy is its limitations. The motion sensor can only be so precise, so often you have to twitch your hand for a few seconds in order for it to detect movement. The sensor detects quick movements poorly. The sensor does not work well in dimly lit rooms. The graphics from the camera displayed on the television set are not bad, but obviously not up to the level of a conventional video game. In addition, curious onlookers standing in the background can trigger the sensor disrupting the game.
Sony provides 12 mini games with the Eye Toy. Some can be some fun, but none of them really grabbed my attention. Most of the games were repetitive, cheesy and overall limited.
While the Eye Toy is a cool little gadget, I fail to see it catching on anytime soon. For now, I'll stick with those old school controller/joystick based games.
