Venture to New York in January 2009, during a harsh winter filled with freezing temperatures. Regular people are killing total strangers in public places. There seems to be no reasons and no links between the murderers, except for the fact that each one follows the exact same ritual and pattern. Lucas Kane becomes another of these murderers when he kills a stranger in the men's room of a restaurant. Haunted by strange visions, he must keep one step ahead of the police to find out what is happening to him. Inspector Carla Valenti and her partner, Tyler Miles, are in charge of the investigation into these crimes, and with death and damage all around them they struggle to understand these senseless happenings.
