Final Fantasy III

Pros: Job System, Graphics, Soundtrack
Cons: Storyline, Characters
The Bottom Line:
Overall it is a really great game, and I would would really recommend this game for any Final Fantasy fan.
When I first heard about Final Fantasy III I really wanted it. Ever since I played Final Fantasy X I have been hooked on the series. When I first started playing Final Fantasy III I loved it right away. It became my favorite handheld Final Fantasy game I have ever played, other games I played are Final Fantasy I and II Dawn of Sorrow and Final Fantasy IV Advanced.
Storyline
The storyline of Final Fantasy III is similar in some ways to Final Fantasy IV Advanced, with crystals and warriors of light. Square Enix did make the story more interesting like a city inflicted by a curse and Dwarves who's ice horns were stolen. The story follows a young boy named Luneth and his friends Arc, Reifa, and Ingus on a quest to search for the four crystals of light to save their world from darkness. They meet other characters on their journey that join them as sub-characters to help them during certain parts of their journey.
Gameplay
The battles system is not much different compared to the battle system of the other final fantasy games I played for gameboy advanced. Just like most of the Final Fantasy games I played, Final Fantasy III is turn based. The bosses you fight in the beginning are fairly easy, but later in game you might end up having to train a bit before a boss. The enemies are usually easy if your characters are strong enough. Once you get near the end of the game the enemies get hard. Still the same magic is used but the way it is set up in Final Fantasy III is different. There is 8 levels of each type of magic. Each level has 3 spells you can use. They also made it where you can only use spells a certain amount of times. For each level you are given an amount of MP, and the higher level magics get less amount of MP to work with. The good thing is as you level up you get more MP for each level. I'm not going to really go into this but they added a new magic set called Summon Magic.
Final Fantasy III also has a great Job System. The jobs will aide you on your quest to save the world from darkness. There are 23 different jobs to choose from. Each job has a special ability you can use in battle. For example, a Ninja has the ability to throw certain kinds of weapons and a Dark Knight has the ability Souleater which sacrifices own HP to attack all enemies. Each job starts out at level 1. The job levels are acquired through the number of actions taken in battle. The action does not even have to be successful for it to count towards level the job up. There are sidequest that the game offers, but I haven't been able to do them because you need to use the Wi-Fi connection with a friend who has the same game, and I don't know any one around me that has it.
Graphics and Sounds
The Graphics in Final Fantasy III are great for a DS game. Most of the Final Fantasy games I played on handhelds are cartoonish. Final Fantasy III on the other hand is not as cartoon like as the other ones. Final Fantasy Soundtrack is really good, but it is repetitive. I have noticed that Square Enix uses a lot of the same music over and over again in a lot of the Final Fantasy games
Conclusion
In conclusion this is a great game to play if you have a DS. Don't let the storyline keep you from purchasing the game, because there is a lot more to the game than that. If you are a Final Fantasy fan it is a must have.
