The Fuji FinePix F100fd delivers unbelievably life-like shots that no other compact camera can duplicate. The secret lies in Fuji’s Wide Dynamic Range that accentuates shadow detail and highlights without washing out detail or crushing black levels. The result is an image that captures all the nuances of brightness and color tone without exaggerating the results. To add to that, the FinePix F100fd utilizes a powerful 12.1 SUPER CCD sensor, and Fuji’s exclusive Real Photo Processor that meticulously removes image noise resulting in smoother, crisper photos.

Great low light pocket Camera

Pros: Size, weight, low light capabities, durable, wide angle lens to 5 X zoom
Cons: Wrist strap wore through, caught the camera. Occasional out of focus problem
The Bottom Line:
A great pocket camera, well built, wide angle to zoom, image stabalized, low light shots excellent.
For over 18 months this tough solid pocketable camera has traveled with me to jungles, deserts and on board ship plane motorcycle and sportscar taking excellent low light photos and great videos, many of them on Youtube e.g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iugxUZvIH7A.
or do a search for C2100 on Youtube
The menus are easy to use. The no noise on flash museum setting is often used. Believe me when no one knows you are taking photos at up to 1600 ISO.
Normally I have the "do not exceed 400 ISO" setting on auto and with the image stabilizer most photos are great. I also use the fujifilm setting for vivid colours.
Occasionally the focus does not set on grab shots, shooting cars at shows or people scenes from the waist. I really push this camera
Over 5250 photos and videos taken in 18 months speak highly of this supplemental camera to mostly My SLR Nikon D70 and more recently a D700.
I researced this camera purchase extensivly and at the time, April 2008, felt it was the best camera for my needs. I often have this camera in the pocket of my walking shorts, motor cycle jacket or the seat of my sports car and it has stood up to the rigors of such travel.
It recently accompanied me on a trip around SE Asia.
The large LCD screen is great to view and review shots. The retractable lens make it moisture and dust.
