Pros: cheap, easy to use, very convienient
Cons: The ladies voice is a little anoying.

Very recommended because it is cheap and easy to use.
I bought this for my husband last fathers day. I bought this because every time we travel somewhere new we always end up in a fight because we both know the best way to get there (which is never the same way). With this handy little system that attaches to the window (the attachment comes with it) all we have to do is put in our destination and hit go. The rest is up to her. We call it a her because it is a waman who tells you the directions.
What is nice about this Garmin 255W GPS receiver, is that she will tell you ahead of time when you are going to have to turn or are coming up on your destination. We always laugh when we have to turn off for gas or something else and she tries to get you back on track because she is very persistent about where you need to go to get back on track.
I have been with a few people who have other GPS devices and they will tell you to turn right when you are at the intersection, by that time they have missed it and have to back track.
There are several options to chose from ranging from places around you to eat, go for entertainment, hospitals, lodging, and many others. This GPS is very easy to use. My kids always want me to turn it on even if we are driving to the store down the street. I am not claiming to know everything about this, but coming from a woman who likes to know where she is going without the argument of what road is the best and fastes route, I highly recommend this product.Before this GPS by the time we reached our destination there was always tension between my husband and I because we just spent the whole trip fighting about me not reading the map right or him missing the turn I just mentioned at last minute. Now there are no more maps to fold or map quest papers to print out. It is great. When you first buy this item you have so many days (I think 30) to down load more places off the Internet for free. After that you do have to pay, but it is not very much.
My father in-law just received this GPS for Christmas and he also loves it. We have already gotten to use it this year and it is a great investment for the couple like us who both think they know it all, it is right up there with individual temperature regulators (also a marriage saver, but for another review).
