Went into Office Depot looking for this advertised monitor after the wife and I decided it was time to invest in LCD and throw out all the CRT's we had lying around and save some much needed desktop space.

Office Depot had about 20 models of 19" LCDs and some were truly impressive...around the price tag. They had to go get this model from the backroom as they had not set any of these up on the shelves next to the $300-$400 Viewsonics' and Sony's. The girl was looking through the specs during the easy setup and installation and was very impressed with the 3ms response time. She said the very best monitors were in the 3-5ms response time and she had not expected that level of performance form the inexpensive "on-sale" monitor.

I spent 15-20 minutes just comparing the performance of the monitor at the store and was so impressed with the picture, I bought two. One for the office and one for home. Turns out my office won't let us use employee purchased equipment on our office computers so I brought it home for the wife's computer.

I was also pleased that the units come with power, video and sound cables, but also a DVI cable so if you have a DVI TV tuner, or DVD with DVI you can use it as a monitor for video and the wide-screen aspect ratio was designed just for that purpose. The unit has the VESA std mounting holes for a wall bracket in the back and a very well designed desktop stand that is sturdy and sets up and comes apart without complaint.

All in all, this is a very well made unit with great specifications and a truly great picture that you could also use as a fine monitor for a bedroom DVD setup.

The list price was $219.99 and sale price was $170. It has built-in speakers, but they are tinny and who uses monitor speakers anyway?
