Harry Potter: You've Seen The Movie, Now Play the Game!
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: Great interaction w/ other characters, intruiging, and fun for kids!
Cons: confusing at first, but you get use to it.
The Bottom Line:
This game is every Harry Potter fan's dream! It's got everything from the Harry Potter series and more! Get it and see for yourself!
It's just like the title says: You've seen the movie of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, now play the game!
You play Harry Potter, who is entering his second year at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While at your friend Ron's house, you learn to use your first spell to help "de-gnome" the garden and defeat an enchanted washing machine! Plus, you collect Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans so you can buy interesting things from Ron's older brothers Fred and George while at Hogwart's. You also collect Famous Witches and Wizards cards to gain more health along the way.
Next, it's off to Diagon Alley, where you must buy your supplies for your second year. Not only that, but you must help Ron's younger sister Ginny find her supplies she lost. Plus, you find out something not-so-good about your rival Draco Malfoy and his father Lucius. Then, after all is said and done, you discover something dreadful: The Hogwart's Express left five minutes ago! How will you get to Hogwart's now? Perhaps an old Ford Anglia Ron's dad drives (or flies) to work...
On your way to Hogwart's, the car breaks down... and crash-lands in a Whomping Willow. Now, you must rescue Ron from the Willow's branches while avoiding pixies, shadow wolves, and many other frightful creatures!
Finally you arrive at Hogwart's, and who should be there to greet you... but the Potions teacher and Slytherin headmaster, Severus Snape. Luckily, you two aren't sent to Headmaster McGonaggal or Headmaster Dumbledorr's office, but now you must solve the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets and discover who the Heir of Salazar Slytherin is... all while making good grades and earning house points for Gryffindor!
The game is not much unlike the movie or book, but there are a few differences. One is that during the Quidditch game against Slytherin, you don't end up in the hospital wing. Another is that you never see Dobby at any time throughout the game... ever. Finally, you learn spells not even heard of in the book or movie, which is a cool plus.
You get to do some very interesting and confusing sidequests while at Hogwart's, like search for a lost package of robes, several Gilderoy Lockhart books, Trevor the frog, and Neville's Remembrall. You also have to sneak out in the middle of the night to find certain things from the Greenhouses and library all while avoiding the school prefects. You also get to practice flying in Madame Hooch's class.
This game is very fun to play and a great challenge. It will keep you entertained all day long. Don't take my word for it, try it now!
