Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire For The PS2

Author's Rating: Rating: 3/5 stars

The Bottom Line:
For fans of the books and movies only

Author's Review

This is the fourth installment to the Harry Potter video games and is also the first one that has the character's actual faces on it from the movies.

This time you can still play as either Harry, Ron or Hermione but you have to choose which one you want to play with before the level starts. You can also add different abilities to your characters and give them extra boosts for the levels and this time you can't free roam around the castle, you have to pick which level you want to play and you will transported there.

I didn't like this game as much as the other ones for those very reasons. However, being a fan of the books, I still sat down and played through the game.

The graphics are one hundred percent better. The characters actually look like the ones on the movies now and the way they show magic powers being used to the way the characters look realistic when they move around to the way they all have different clothes instead of everyone wearing the same thing to the way they did the backgrounds are just absolutely amazing. There was times when I thought that objects in the backgrounds looked real and I also like the way they do each of the three challenges Harry had to face in the books and movie.

You can still collect famous witches and wizards cards but this time the cards are used to update your characters abilities and make them better, stronger and faster than before. You are joined by a new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher on this game named Professor Moody and he is just like the one on the movie and embodies all of the characteristics of the one in the book.

This game is great for fans of the books and movies but I'm not sure it would hold the attention of someone who has enjoyed the free roaming adventures of the last three games.
