Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's is bare minimum a good game, can be lived without

Pros: Tied you over between Guitar Hero 2 and 3.
Cons: No real improvement, no alternate costumes, no bonus songs, and only thirty tracks.
The Bottom Line:
Do not buy this game unless you are a die hard Guitar Hero fan.
This game should have been called guitar hero: paycheck. This game is nothing more than guitar hero 2 with glam rock makeup. A quick way for Red Octane to get another paycheck before guitar hero 3 and Rock Band. Some people will find this 80's twist to be a good thing, others not. This game will end before you know it, it took me less than a day to beat 29 of 30 songs. Unless you are a big fan of 80's music, this game has a poor song choice. My big issue was the simplicity of most of the songs. It took me 25 songs before I failed. I realize that power cords were big, but I would think there were harder songs to be picked for this game.
Another issues is with the characters. They all have one costume, that is it. They are 80's themed, but you cannot but anymore.
With no real improvements, this feels more like a 2.5 rather than a three. Even the menu setup is the exact same just with a purple tint. The song selection screen was not even changed, the doodles were still the same. Like I said, this game can be lived without. Rent if you must play it.
