Maximum Performance Portable Desktop

Pros: Large bright screen, very powerful portable desktop.
Cons: Very short battery life (1hr 20min), awful touch pad.
The Bottom Line:
I bought on a tight timeline, I keep thinking there is a better laptop out there with a usable touchpad. Overall I'd definately recommend it.
I purcahsed this laptop at Circuit City (Brick and Mortor) and am very suprised how well this beast of a machine performs. I won't reiterate the tech specs, but I'll mention what they don't:
Pros:
* All the heat comes out of the laptop's side. This is the only laptop I've ever owned that I would operate on my lap without getting 3rd degree burns from the heat. Very good.
* For you accounting junkies, it has a 10 key. This is the only laptop I've seen in awhile with this.
* The screen is beautiful. Not as WOW as Sony's XBRITE screens but very cool none-the-less.
* Raw power. Read the tech specs, have fun, but I can seriously feel the differece between this and my previous laptop that had fairly similar specs. I think the core differances are an extremely fast hard drive and the faster bus speed.
* Hardware buttons to turn on and off the wireless networking.
* Tons of ports, digital flash inputs, I can't think of a single device this thing couldn't interface with.
* Rich sounding Harman/Kardon speakers.
Cons:
* I hate this track pad more than any track pad ever. You can not click by tapping the pad. It's off center of the machine and this is a huge problem on a laptop over a foot wide. In order to balance this thing on your lap you'll have hours of pain using the track pad. The "mouse scroll" function on the track pad doesn't work on anything but internet explorer. You hook up an external mouse with a scroll wheel and it works fine. The only positive on this awful pad is there is a button to disable it. This track pad is so bad it almost overrides all the good stuff in this otherwise almost perfect machine.
* Comes pre-installed with half the desktop covered in ridiculous adware. You'll spend at least 2 hours removing all the crap (Trial internet access, crippled demo software, etc) you don't want. This is par for the course with computers now-adays but this is worse than the Toshiba I bought last year.
* Short Battery Life
