Great Printer, Faulty Software

Pros: Very good basic printing functions.
Cons: Scan and Fax not as straightforward.
Installation software is faulty.
For straightforward printing, both color and black and white, this printer does an extraordinary job with clear, clean print. Prints fairly quickly. The other functions (scanning, faxing, copying) are adequate but not nearly as impressive as the computer qued printing.
The software on the other hand, is problem-ridden. I performed the wireless installation on one PC, two laptops and one MAC. Curiously, the MAC installation went OK, but installation on the other units with XP or Vista operating systems presented error codes at the 96% complete level. The "wizzard" had trouble finding the printer on the network and I had to use the advanced install features each time to match the printer with the computers utilizing the IP address. HP needs to work on this problem.
