The Bottom Line:
This are amazing headphones for their price and if you want amazing sound quality for cheap these are the way to go!
I am a drummer and so I like to play along to music, but it is hard finding a headphones that I'll be able to hear over my drums. Even though these were inexpensive they solved the problem!
Price
I found the Gummi ear-buds just at my local Wal-Mart for $14.99. You can also purchase these at Best Buy, F.Y.E, Radioshack and any other electronic store or super store such as Target and K-Mart. I would be willing to bet though, if you bought these ear phones at Radioshack or Best Buy they would be more expensive than at Wal-Mart or K-Mart. It wouldn't be much more expensive, but if you found these headphones for more than $20 you are getting scammed!
Chord length
One thing that I don't like too much about these earphones is the chord length. It is only about three ft. I know that may sound like a lot but it really isn't. It makes me feel like I am tied down while I am trying to enjoy my music. The worst is when I am on the computer and have these headphones plugged in. If I even try to turn my head a little the chord either stops me, pulls out of the computer, or else the ear buds come out of my ears. Now if you just have them plugged into your I-pod then it isn't as bad. So depending on what you're doing will decide how much chord you may need.
Ear Pieces
The buds that actually go into your ear are coated with rubber. This is to help make them more comfortable and I believe it even helps dissipate excess noise that may interfere with your listening. When these Gummi ear buds are first put in they feel very comfortable and nice, but after having them in for about a half hour or so they begin to hurt and get less and less comfortable.(I am not saying this will happen to you this is just my experience with them.)
Weight & Size
Gummi earbuds are basically weight-less. I have had phones in the past that seemed like they weighed my ears down, but these Gummi's didn't! You can't even tell when they are in(unless they have been in for a while and start to grow uncomfortable like I mentioned earlier.) Because of their small size and being almost weight-less, you can carry these around with you anywhere. They fit nicely in pockets, bags, and even in the small folder in a binder! All you have to do is roll them up, slide them where you want them and BAM! their gone. So be careful you might forget you have them in your pocket and wach them or easily forget about them.
Colors
When I frst saw these I was drawn to them because of their variety of bright colors. I did only get the black ones, but all of the other colors next to it on the shelf is what caught my eye. You can get these in red, blue, green, purple, black and I believe yellow. I have also seen these colors two ways. Either bright or else just plain. So no matter what style you maybe looking for these Gummi's will work.
Adjusting
For some reason these ear buds seem to slip out more and need to be adjusted in your ear more than most headphones. I feel like if I make the slightest movement that they are just going to pop out of my ear. Even if they just move a little it seems like the sound quality isn't the same anymore. So either be ready to adjust them quite a bit or plan on not moving.
Slack slider
Now I am not sure what this part is actually called, but for this review we'll refer to it as the slack slider. This is the small piece on the chord that you can slide up or down to adjust the slack of the chord around the bottom of your face. This piece seems to not slide as easily as I would like it to. You need seem force to get it to move up or down and if you do it too hard then the chord will get all bunched up. Once you have found the spot where you would like it though, you won't have to readjust it for a while.
Sound quality
For how cheap you can buy these for, I was very impressed by the sound quality that they send out. The music(or whatever it is you're listening to) is very clear. And because they are in your ear it makes it feel like you're at an actual concert(depending on what you're listening to ha ha) I also really like how the bass sounds in these earphones too. You can hear it and feel it pound your head! The only time I ever had any problems with the sound was a couple weeks ago, for some reason the sound had some static and I couldn't figure out why. I think that it is because I had left my Gummi's in my car over night and the cold weather just kind of messed with them. Now that the weather is warm I don't hear any static. So I am pretty sure that was the cause of it. Along with good sound quality, these earbuds help block out excess noise that may interfere with your listening. When I have these bad boys in I can't hear anyone trying to talk to me or any other sound. Like I mentioned earlier I am a drummer and I can play along to music now and be able to keep track of where I am in the song and hear the beats over my drum set. Now it doesn't get rid of all the sound coming from my drums, but enough to keep time. Now for $15 headphones that is very impressive.
