Kodak EasyShare M380

Pros: Compact; Good battery Life
Cons: Picture quality when zooming and in low light conditions (like indoors).
The Bottom Line:
Compared to my previous Kodaks, this one was disappointing. Picture quality in low light and when zooming is gainy. If conditions are perfect, you will get a good picture.
This is my third Kodak digital camera. I buy a new one every few years as pixels increase and memory cards change. I'm no expert on cameras, but I know what a clear picture looks like! I prefer the simplicity of a point and shoot. The low cost of these cameras means I won't be too worried about breaking it. I keep coming back to Kodak since I've had really good luck with every Kodak camera I've ever owned (including the pre-digital ones). They are simple and take fairly good pictures.
Unfortunately, this camera does not live up to my expectations. I've owned it for three or four months and have taken hundreds of pictures using different settings and under different light conditions and different times of the day. This camera can take a good picture, but the conditions need to be right. Sunny days, outside, shooting close-in subjects seems to be right. In zoom mode and in low light conditions, the pictures turn out grainy. There are many settings to help account for light and movement that do help some when they are used (instead of the auto mode).
Bottom line--my older Kodak cameras with fewer pixels produced better results for me. I do like the convenience of being able to pop the memory card out of the camera and into the laptop!
