The Kodak Easyshare C182 is a great camera, with excellent photos and video.

Pros: Easy to use camera for photos and video.
Cons: Has done all that I ask of it.
The Bottom Line:
The Kodak Easyshare C182 was the third camera we tried, in 6 weeks. We are keeping it, as it is easy to use, and both photos and video look great.
The Kodak EasyShare C182, is our third digital camera, in a six weeks period. We finally have one that both my husband and I like.
The other 2 cameras we purchased, and returned were red, and it made a nice change from the silver ones we both have. Well, the Kodak EasyShare C182 just happens to be silver as well.
We wanted a digital camera with a larger screen, than the two and a half inch size of our other ones. This one has a three-inch screen. It also is a far superior camera, with 12 megapixals.
In the box were the camera, camera strap, 2 batteries, the Kodak EasyShare software disk, and the one page user guide. I opened the guide up and it is very basic:
“1. Install Kodak EasyShare Software.
2. Load batteries.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Set language, date/time.
5. Take a picture/video.
6. Review pictures/videos.
7. Transfer pictures/videos.”
It also has a picture of the front, back, top, and side of the camera, with a list of what everything is. It states, for complete information about your camera, see the extended user guide, and gives a Kodak website.
With the Kodak EasyShare C182, the on/off switch is on the top, as well as the shutter button, mode dial, and flash button. Once switched on you can use the Smart Caption, which is like the auto ones on other cameras, or turn it to the close up, sport, program, scene, blur reduction, or video.
Before Len had his heart attack, and I rushed him to the E.R., where he stayed in and had heart surgery, we both wanted to try out the camera. This was done in our local area, in the house, down at Busch Gardens, and I took lots of food pictures, on close up. This is the only one, of the 3 recent cameras we purchased, that did great in every area. My food photographs were crisp and bright. The photographs we took of a show came out perfect, even when people were moving.
I printed some out on my photo printer. It was on good quality photo paper, and they were as good as shop produced ones.
As with all the digital cameras, this one has a 3 times optical zoom. I took pictures of zebras and giraffes, in the distance, with the zoom, and it was as if they were up close, and personal.
I like the playback feature on this camera and also the thumbnails. It is so neat to be able to see lots of photographs all at once.
It states on the Kodak website:
"HD picture capture
Take stunning HD pictures in 16:9 format
View your pictures in high definition on an HDTV or other HD devices[1]
KODAK Theatre HD Player (optional device)
Finally, something everyone will want to watch.
Enjoy your new pictures and videos on your HDTV instantly, right from your camera’s memory card
Access pictures from your PC, camera, and online photo sharing sites, wirelessly
Wirelessly send and receive pictures with Kodak’s Picture Mail feature
Create slideshows to your favorite songs
Experience YouTube™ like never before—videos are brilliantly displayed on your HDTV
Access Internet radio, podcasts and other web content on your HDTV"
It also states that you can turn your pictures into an on-camera slideshow. I haven't checked this feature out yet.
All I know is that these pictures turn out great. I was reading that this camera detects and analyzes scene conditions, which will automatically set camera settings including exposure, focus and ISO for clear, sharp pictures even in low light and challenging situations. Not only this but it reduces noise, and clears up dark shadows for vibrant, crisp details and true-to-life colors. I had no idea that a camera could do this for me.
The list of things it can do goes on, including face detection, which will automatically adjust the setting for better shots.
For the camera buffs there are many more features included in this camera, such as black and white, and sepia.
Once the Kodak Easyshare software has been installed, these pictures and video can be shared, edited, organized, and video uploaded to YouTube. The Share button makes life easy.
Here is a list from Kodak with the details:
"Organize your pictures with your own tags and star ratings then use the search feature to quickly find any picture in your collection
Edit your pictures with ease—select from a variety of simple tools that reduce red-eye, improve lighting, remove wrinkles and blemishes, and add text
Create personalized photo projects online or at home—choose from hundreds of templates and designs to create photobooks, cards, invitations, and much more
Share your pictures and videos with family and friends at the KODAK Gallery or YouTube™
So we finally have found the camera that does everything we wish of it. It was on sale at Office Depot for $99 and we think that we got a bargain.
Since writing this at the beginning of January, I have used the camera on a regular basis. The original batteries are still working, which is great for me, as I take so many food photographs.
The video plays backs great, and we haven’t seen any glitches with it. We even made an 8 minute video recently, in an Italian restaurant's kitchen. The member of the management team, made both stuffed and thin crust pizza. We got it all on video, and it plays perfectly. It is going on YouTube, and then I will put it in one of my food articles.
The 40 photograps we took of this were amazing. I have already put 20 of them in a slideshow.
This camera is a winner for both Len and myself.
