Finally! A Pure, Simple, No Gimmicks Face Primer! With A,C, & E!

Pros: Natural, no makeup appearance and texture. Prolongs makeup wear. Antioxidants.

Cons: Dry/oily skin formulas wasted my money, forcing me back to the original.

A fantastic face primer. For foundation and concealer products, this product is all day perfection, even cosmetics look better on their own.

GENERAL: From Foundation, concealer, eye products, and more... You are in complete control! And control is one (if not the only) favorite things of mine! A small amount of Laura Mercier Foundation Primer creates a smooth canvas, ready for your traditional makeup routine.

EXPERIENCE and RESULTS: After applying the Primer, it instantly absorbs and leaves no oily layer, lotion feeling, greasiness, etc. Foundation goes on smooth and evenly, thus requiring less product. Concealer seems to go on smoother sans settling in to fine lines or creating a crepe-y look.

Talk about getting your money and time's worth! A few seconds prior to your routine, using such a small amount - and you end up with tremendous, aesthetic results that last all day and beyond. Beyond, due to the protection from everyday pollutants and antioxidants.

PRODUCT: The texture is is a light-colored, smooth-textured, gel/cream. No slippery silicone feeling like many other expensive primers which ironically seem to make product "slip" off throughout the day rather than prolonging wear.

Non-drying AND non-oily! Sounds amazing, but I kid you not,I highly recommend the original version as it suits my extremely dry skin AND my mother's very oily skin equally well.

COMPARISONS: I have tried many primers including, but not limited to: Smashbox, Smashbox FX, Philosophy, etc. I NEVER finished a bottle of any of these. I found the Smashbox primers too slippery (silicon or silk-like). Also, when applying/layering foundation or makeup they had a tendency to produce flakes which I had to brush off with my powder or Kabuki brush. Yuck. And Weird.

The Philosophy primer was too creamy and did not absorb too quickly. It also ended smearing my foundation and makeup rather than adhering it to my complexion.

PACKAGING: The tube (1.7 fl. oz./50 ml) is a fantastic shape with an oblong screw-top lid, allowing even lotion saturated hands to easily open the tube. Pliable tube is easy to squeeze without being flimsy or cheap-feeling. The weight doesn't sound very generous, but it is. It will last longer than you expect, making it a good buy.

Take 'EM OR LEAVE 'EM TIPS:
-Purchase from a department store counter when a promo is happening in order to qualify for "free goodies". Or at the very least visit the counter in order to request take-home samples of other products which are perfect for travels and trials!

-Try http://www.LauraMercier.com for current offers like beauty filled totes with purchase, etc.

-Refrigerate your tube and apply in mornings to combat swelling, puffiness, and for a refreshing treat. Great for summer or hot days... and, uh... morning after nights out!

-For drier skin, like mine, apply a light moisturizer over the primer but prior to makeup, allowing for ample time to absorb in between product layers.

-Works well in conjunction with the Face Finisher ($26) (which I carry in my purse). It is a smaller tube so it fits well in any bag. Apply a light layer over face for a glowing touch up without interfering your already perfect makeup.

APPLICATION: I like to apply all over my face with my fingers. However, you may also achieve similar results with a sponge wedge.I just seem to feel more control, even application and less product waste using my trusty fingers.
