Author's Review
The first Lego game to be based on a set was the Lego Star Wars game. That game was very addicting, and I found myself playing that game long after my son went to bed. It was well done, and will be a fun game to play for a long time to come.

The next in the series is Indiana Jones adventures. This takes you through the first three movies, similar to the way the Star Wars took you through all six. Each movie has six "levels" that you can play through. Each opening cut scene is similar to that part of the movie, but with a tongue in cheek twist on it. They are just as funny as the ones in Star Wars, and some you'll just laugh out loud at.

Game play itself is similar, but with actions that are more in line with Indiana Jones. As with the lightsaber in Star Wars, you can use Indy's whip by whipping the Wii controller. The interesting thing about the characters is that the female ones can jump higher than the male, so you can reach higher parts of a level. I thought that was a great way to portray the females, instead of being the "damsel in distress" like they could be in the movies.

Each level requires you to solve puzzles and use teamwork to finish. The twist on the teamwork in this game is that it works better in one player in Indiana Jones as compared to Star Wars. Here, for instance, you can have one player pull on a rope, switch to the other character, cross the bridge, and the computer gets the first character caught up with you. Also, the player controlled character will fight the baddies. However, they are only stunned,and you have to finish them off. This is helpful when you have alot of baddies to fight.

Along the way, you can pick up objects that will help you, such as shovels, guns, rocket launchers, and torches. These are generally placed where you need them, but you can use them to fight baddies as well.

Some of the levels take a lot of thought to complete. You may have to re-start a level, just out of frustration, as I have many times. I'm not sure if it's my inexperience at playing games, or how they designed the game.

One of the new features of this is the fear aspect. As everyone knows, Indy hates snakes. In this game, if he gets close to them, he covers his eyes, shakes, and cries. At this point, you can't use him and have to switch. (The female characters do the same with rats and similar small creatures, but are okay with snakes.) At this point, you have to figure out how to get the scared character thorough that.

If there is a downside, it is that the game isn't long enough. With only three movies to go through, it's much shorter than Star Wars. There are some other areas to explore, but it's the same size as what Star Wars had in their "Cantina" area.

I recommend this game for kids of all ages. This is a Lego look into the world of the Indiana Jones, and it will makes kids laugh, and adults as well, with it's tongue in cheek humor, but it also keeps to the Indiana Jones saga.

This is a great game if you are a fan of Lego's and of Indiana Jones.
