Master the Force, Brick by Brick! With a comical take on the Star Wars Trilogy that revolutionized pop culture forever (Episode IV A New Hope, Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI Return of the Jedi), LEGO Star Wars II follows the Rebel Alliance''s battle to dismantle the Galactic Empire and rebuild a galaxy in pieces. From Darth Vader''s pursuit of Princess Leia aboard her Blockade Runner to a showdown on the reconstructed Death Star, the game includes even more of the family-friendly LEGO action, puzzles and humor that earned the original LEGO Star Wars such popularity and acclaim.\n Minimize

Buggy 3-D graphics, Feels like a BETA

Author's Rating: Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: Covers the original Star Wars Episodes Full charactor control in 3-D

Cons: At Times buggy and poor graphics Buggy and poor repetitious music

The Bottom Line:
I would only recommend this game to those who have an extra $30 and can't live without a new Star Wars Game. The buggy graphics and music are a downside.

Author's Review
I really liked playing the first LEGO Star Wars on both my Gameboy Advance SP and my Sony Playstation 2. I recently upgraded to a Nintendo DS Lite and was very exited to hear that Lego Star Wars II was coming out and it was going to cover the ORIGINAL episodes (i.e. IV, V, and VI) I found the game in-stock the day it was released! The first thing I noticed when I started it up was that they chose to attempt full 3-D graphics. The graphics are at times sub-par to the original Lego Star Wars which was based on very clean 2-D graphics. The graphics issues are quite evident when flying in the ship, at times it's not more than just a dot on the screen and you are expected to take full control and avoid falling objects! Another example of the graphics issues is when you are outside sky when outside the sky will sometimes disappear and turn black in sections. Rooms ahead of you are sometimes black giving you no clue of what is ahead and the camera seems to get it self stuck in corners and behind walls quite often. The sound and music are pretty bad. The music is repetitive and at times buggy (stops working correctly) The sound effects are fine but nothing special (no surround sound) I do not think that this DS version is worth $35, if you have the patience I would wait for them to lower the price to $20-$25 before purchasing. I hope that the PlayStation 2 version offers similar if not better game-play and graphics than the original Lego Star Wars!
