Seems Great to Me

Pros: Good distance. Increase internet speed.
Cons: So far none.
The Bottom Line:
This unit in combination with the WGA600N is great for DirecTV or whatever else you throw at it. Get Network Magic...you won't be sorry.
I had an old Linksys G-band router and decided to upgrade. We have DirecTV and I wanted to use the router to record movies onto two DirecTV DVR's through Linksys wireless receivers (model WGA600N). I used the installation disk and the process was simple. It took around 20 minutes to complete the installation, and then around 5 minutes to set up each of the wireless access points. I have had everything up and running for around 1 week now without any problems. My suggestions for someone considering this router: (1) Use a program called Network Magic. I have used it for years and love it. I believe it helped the installation process to go smoothly. Network Magic sensed that I was changing routers and asked if I wanted to make the WRT610N my new home router. Then I used Network Magic to add the wireless access points and then to secure the system. (2) In setup, you will be asked to name your primary network. Remember that this network will be the one that reaches out the farthest. Then, you will be asked to name the secondary network, in the 5Ghz range, that will not have the distance of the primary network. When setting up the "closer" wireless access point I had the choice of both networks (both frequencies). Because it was the closer point, I picked the frequecy that I knew had the shorter range. Then, at ther farther point, about 100 ft away, the only network picked up was the primary, down in the 2Ghz range. Worked perfectly and I love it! We can run two computers, a Wii, a PS3, and record a movie to DirecTV without having things bog down. No regrets so far.
