Finally, I have a remote setup that doesn't frustrate my wife

Pros: An enourmous component support database and lots of custom programmability.
Cons: Internal memory is inadiquate for for savable items, the price, and limited game functionality
The Bottom Line:
I would definately recommend the Harmony One to support your entertainment system. Truely a well thought out, well built product.
The Harmony One is certainly not for a weak pocketbook but it works well and it's great for wife and kids. I broke down in frustration and finally purchased one after sitting with 5 individual remotes and two higher end programmables that were useless. Within about a half hour programming session I realized that my days of trying to cybertrain the wife and kids were over. I was actually able to program my entire entertainment system via the included CPU program and was able to accurately see at a glance exactly what will be turning on and what will be turning off. Duderons, I am in heaven. No longer do I get agitated because the kids whacked every button on my system knocking out settings that took me days to get just right. Most of the command control systems I have tried have a very limited component library and I ultimately end up with one or two components that are not going to work regardless of my effort. I have even come across universals that were not compatible with the products within their own product lines. It seems the buy for resale tactics that has plagued our electronic industry doesn't require standardized infrared coding and the engineering that has been pouring out of China I can only relate to, well, like they drive. Good old American engineering is hard to find these days but I can tell you that the Harmony One is an exception to the rule. As for the back side of this power curve, the slideshow is virtually useless because low memory and 12 Mp digital cameras are not very friendly towards each other and functional pictures of the commands would have been a nice feature instead of forced nemonics. Another big negative is that the unit is specifically designed to compliment an entertainment system and has limited game functionality or programming so you can immediately see how disappointed the kids are going to be when they find out that Mario is not not going to be 6'4". All said the Harmony One is an excellent product and I would place it on the gotta have list of anyone that owns or plans to own a multi-component entertainment system.
