Overall, the X-140 speakers are a great two speaker set that should fit most needs. Despite a reasonably low price of $30 to $40, they deliver surprisingly high-quality sound.

Having previously been spoiled by a speaker set that included a sub-woofer, I was a bit skeptical of this relatively inexpensive two-speaker set. Fortunately, it turns out to fit my needs quite nicely.

The speakers have a fairly simple, verticle design that leans back slightly and looks nice with with most computers/monitors.  They're not flashy by any means, but have enough small details that they look good.

Despite having a mid-range price, the speakers deliver high-end sound quality andsurprisingly good bass considering there isn't a sub-woofer. People wanting a huge, shake your room thump would be better off with a sub-woofer, but the Logitech X-140 speakers provide more than enough bass for gaming, videos, and music. They can also get quite loud. I rarely turn the volume more than half way up.

One feature I consider a must have for home PC speakers is volume control. Luckily, the X-140 speakers have two knobs on the front. One functions as your power and volume control, while the other allows you to adjust the base.  There is also a red light to indicate the speakers are on. 

With those controls are easily accessible headphone and auxillary  sockets which allow you to use your MP3  or CD player.
