Together the two games cover both the prequel and original trilogy, with each film given six separate levels of its own, one of which is vehicle based. The rest of the levels though are deceptively simple action adventures with a built-in co-operative mode that anyone can join in and leave whenever they want. The combat is simple enough that anyone can play and you never really die, leaving the most complex part of the gameplay the always cleverly designed puzzles. Minimize

Author's Review
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Nintendo Wii is a fun and affordable game that was fashioned to be compatible with the Wii Console. There have been several Lego Star Wars games released on other consoles, including a fun one that was on the Xbox 360.  This one however, was tailored so that fans of the Wii Console could really enjoy using both the regular Wii controllers as well as the Wii nunchuck controllers.  This Star Wars Wii game is also created to span all six of the live-action movies that were released, and to allow users to play through all of the different worlds of Star Wars with the various characters at each level.  The game is created for one or two players, but it much more fun when two people are playing, because you can team up against the computer, and its easier to accomplish tasks.

The game plays much like most "movie" video games work, with the player or players starting at the beginning of Star Wars Episode 1 and working their way through the six movies in order to defeat the empire and win the game.  Along the way players get introduced (or re-introduced) to all of the characters from the six George Lucas movies, and individual chapters within the game are concluded by "winning" with each of those characters.  Completing the levels with each character, and of course accomplishing the tasks of each movie along the way gets players through to the next battle along the way.  After each level is completed the players are given text that explains what is taking place, and it gives brief descriptions about which section of the films that the players have advanced through.

If you have ever played one of the Lego games on any of the video game consoles, then you know what you are getting into with the Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga game as well.  This is meant to be a game that provides fun in a family environment, and that doesn't attempt to be too difficult for the user.  It isn't the type of game where if you die you are sent back to the beginning, but rather the type where your character can re-generate all of the time.  As you play with the given character of a level, you start out with four hearts of life that are worked down when enemies attack or harm your character.  If your character runs out of hearts, they explode in a rush of leg pieces before re-generating a few second later.  You lose a certain number of "coins" that you have achieved on that level, but you can still gain them back.  In this fashion the game can keep continuing until you fell like putting it down.

The fun part about being able to play Lego Star Wars on the Wii Console is that you get to basically use two controllers while you are playing.  The first is the regular Wii controller and the second is the Wii nunchucks controller.  This makes you able to use the light sabers in one moment and "the force" in the next by taking advantage of both hands at the same time, and making the game even more fun to play.  Being able to take it on with a partner increases the level of enjoyment, though it can get frustrating at times if you or your partner wants to move to the next screen, but someone is still fighting the "bad guys" on that current screen.  In that way, it two people are playing at the same time, it takes some coordination to figure out how you are going to progress through the levels and the game.  An interesting wrinkle is that in levels that have multiple characters, the users can switch between them and back as they wish.

This is a pretty fun game on the Wii Console, and I would have to say that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a game that can be enjoyed not just by Star Wars fans, but those who enjoy playing fun games on the Wii. You can get lost in the game play quite quickly, and as it progresses you gain a better understanding of how the game works and how your character can take on some great attributes. This is a pretty non-violent game, even though you have to defeat the robots, droids, and other bad-guys along the way, because they are all constructed out of Lego pieces. The game is easy to learn for beginners on the Wii Console, will provide many hours of enjoyment, and has a very wide range of demographics that would really enjoy playing the game. This is a highly recommended game for the Wii Console, and one that would be a really good game for someone that has just purchased or received the Wii platform.
