This year’s Madden game, which may be the best recent years, has recaptured my love for the franchise of Madden football after last year’s disappointing product. Whether it is the living rosters that can be upgraded via internet connection, or the new quarterback moves incased in this year’s game, Madden 10 will be marked down as one of the most realistic football video games ever. Player movement, fighting for the fumbles and the new touchdown celebrations make this game very life-like. Also, there are many different game modes to keep the player interested and entertained, such as NFL Legend, franchise, and mini games like two minute drills.
            One of the most intriguing features of Madden 10 has got to be the new roster updates. With a simple internet connection anyone can get updated rosters as they are in the real life NFL. This is very useful for a player during his or her franchise, because when someone in real life gets traded to another team, the updated roster on the video game is affected. For example, over this offseason Brett Favre signed with the Minnesota Vikings and Mike Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The original copy of Madden 10 did not have these players on their respective teams, however with the updated roster you can play with these players on their teams as they appear in real life. This brings a whole new aspect to playing with friends and making new rivalries in the game.
            On of the most heart-wrenching plays in football is a fumble. Both teams are fighting for the ball and piling up to trying their best to get their team possession and possibly change the course of the game. Fumbles in Madden 10 have a whole new meaning and a whole new face. In the old days, fumbles were just recovered by a single player. However in today’s game, fumbles are fought for by up to nine players. In the fight, both video gamers tap buttons as fast as they can to try to recover the fumble. This aspect of the game brings the game to life and gets the gamer more excited about a fumble. A game changing turnover is no longer for fate to decide, every gamer has the opportunity to make, or break, his game.
            It’s almost every ten year old boy’s dream to be a professional athlete when he grows up. Madden 10 gives kids the opportunity to live out this dream and become a NFL superstar right there in his room. The NFL Superstar mode is more in-depth than ever. From the NFL draft to the preseason games and hopefully all the way to the Super Bowl, the gamer has complete control over his or her player. Another game mode that gives the gamer the complete opposite experience is the franchise mode. In this part of the game the player has complete control over an entire team. The player has the opportunity to make trades, re sign and draft players. The gamer can also play every game that the team plays for thirty years. Although this is not a new feature to Madden 10, it is still worth mentioning when talking about the best aspects of this marvelous game.
            Madden 10 has changed the way gamers play the NFL on their game systems. From the many different game modes to the brand new jukes and dances, Madden 10 ups the ante when it comes to football games. This game is perfect for the little(or big)sports fanatic in the family and will not disappoint.
