Great camera

Pros: Small & compact, great automatic adjustment features, solid and durable, good battery life
Cons: Video recording better than expected for a still camera, but could be improved.
I bought this camera to use on my trip in remote and rural parts of Africa. The main reason I chose it is because it was the smallest, most compact camera I could find. It takes very nice pictures and the automatic adjustments work very well. The battery life is also pretty good. My previous digital camera was a Sony that I paid twice as much for, and while it met my high expectations of a Sony product, Nikon clearly knows more about building cameras than Sony does.
I dropped this camera on concrete with the lens zoomed in and it jammed the lens. I figured it was toast at that point but I managed to wiggle it until it retracted, and I have never had any problems with it since! I would definitely look at Nikon cameras first in the future, although I really don't know why I would ever need another camera.
