The D3000 is compatible with a broad range of world-famous Nikkor lenses and includes the versatile 3x, 18-55mm Zoom-Nikkor with Silent-Wave Motor autofocusing and Nikon VR image stabilization to combat picture blur caused by camera shake for sharper handheld pictures. Special moments are captured faithfully at up to 3 frames-per-second and displayed on a bright, 3-inch LCD monitor. The D3000's split-second shutter response eliminates the annoyance of shutter lag. To further simplify picture-taking in special situations such as portraits, sports, landscapes, and more, the D3000 features icon-identified Scene Modes that deliver beautiful results automatically in otherwise complex situations.

Amazing Camera

Pros: Nikon. One of the top camera brands out there.
You can change the lens
Cons: None that I have found,
it's a big camera though...
Sort of heavy, but durable.
With the different kinds of cameras, I would most definitely choose the Nikon D3000 if you are into photography of any sort. I'm a highschool senior that does freelance work for a company and this is the camera that I bought and I'm very excited about it. My favorite part is that you can change the lens of the camera from fish eyed, to bokeh to even HD. Using the camera at football games, I get a clear shot of what's happening and some really "awesome" photographs.
Using this camera, it's great for weddings as well getting the brides facial expression and the "perfect kiss".
Their are so many possibilities with this camera, so many functions.
My honest favorite feature is using the camera for HDR photographs, if you do not know what that is (search flickr.com), they are amazing to do and the Nikon is perfect for it.
A great buy and an amazing SLR Camera!
