Pros: The D90 takes 5.5 pictures per second. The rechargable battery seems to last forever.
Cons: You should purchase a hot foot nikon flash. Low light situations affect camera speed.
The Bottom Line:
This camera will last for years and take thousands of quality photograhs. I can't say enough positive things about it. An all around 10 out of 10.
I purchased my D90 about 6 months ago and have taken several thousand pictures with it so far. It is easy to use, especially in "auto" mode. The buttons are intuitive and with only a short amount of time reading the owners manual you can be an expert. The camera is absolutely amazing. It captures incredible detail in every photo. I am every bit the average amatuer photographer but this camera and lens combo turns my photos into a professional product everytime. The camera is a bit bulky, you have to be dedicated to taking pictures. Do not buy this camera for the video capability. It is great for taking stills and in motion stills. The Nikon D90 comes with a software package that is easy to use and install on any windows based machine. The camera connects to your computer via a standard USB cable and downloads quickly to your PC, laptop or Mac. The pictures are HUGE, appx 12 megapixels each, so you better have a good amount of hard drive space dedicated for photos. I thought I would have to buy an extra battery pack, don't waste your money. The battery lasts for an eternity. I took 600 pictures in a day and looked at the battery life, it went down 25%. It has a large, easy to read lcd screen on the body which lets you scroll through your photos and do some photo editing right on the camera! I did notice that in low light situations the camera didn't take photos quite as quickly as outside on a bright sunny day. So, I went back to the camera store and purchased a Nikon flash made specifically for a digital SLR. It has made a world of difference in indoor/night time photos especially sunsets at the beach etc. I advocate this camera to anyone interested in taking great photographs as long as price isn't a consideration.
